river of glass
Project Overview
Inspired by the winding hydrology of the Florida Everglades, this conceptual study envisions a monumental glass installation designed to merge fluid, organic forms with existing architectural infrastructure. The piece explores the intersection of natural ecosystems and built environments, interpreting the flow of a river through static geometry and shifting light.
Digital Architecture & Engineering
At In Theory Art Studios, rigorous digital engineering is the foundation of our physical builds. We invest significantly more time in the digital architecture phase than in physical fabrication to guarantee absolute precision upon installation. Every custom concept is meticulously human-engineered. For this installation, the complex polyform geometry was developed in Blender before being brought into Unreal Engine. We built advanced, real-time simulations to study exactly how sunlight and programmed digital lighting would refract through the dichroic glass panels at any given hour.
Materiality & Integration
The design utilizes a framework of custom polyforms, layered dichroic materials, and integrated digital light mapping. This allows the installation to maintain a striking architectural presence during the day while transforming into a dynamic, illuminated centerpiece at night.
Commission Inquiries
This specific structural concept can be adapted for site-specific art commissions, festival installations, and architectural integrations. Please contact the studio to discuss bringing a custom iteration of this concept to your space.
